Blender Cycles OSL: Gold Material

Imagen
Hi everybody. Today I'm going to show you a migration to OSL of my Gold Material : In that article I used a mix of colors I called Colombia Gold . Here I have called this mix as Egypt Gold . This is the same node setup in cycles without OSL: In most of the posts you can find in Blender Artist , the OSL code is used to get a pattern or a texture. This time I have migrated all the nodes information included in that material to the code, trying to minimize the overhead of the node system. So the OSL code is as follows: /* * Migrated from "http://elbrujodelatribu.blogspot.com.es/2013/01/gold-material.html" * By: elbrujodelatribu */ shader node_metal_gold( color ForeColor = 0.8, color MiddleColor = 0.4, color BackColor = 0.1, vector Normal = N, float ForeRoughness = 0.01, float BackRoughness = 0.04, output closure color Metal = 0.0) { closure color ForeClosure = background(); closure color BackClosure = background(); /...

Ancient Gold Material

Hi everybody. Today I'm going to show you an ancient gold material. This is a variation of the material shown in this article . I have mixed two main colors with a facing layer weight node, and included a third color to darken the objects backwards, in this case with a more pronounced effect. This is the final node group setup:   You can download this (called colombia ancient gold) and other node setups at blendswap . Bye

Jewelry Gold Material

Hi everybody. Today I'm going to show you my jewelry gold material. The material has five parameters: three colors (fore, middle and back) and two roughnesses (one for two previous colors and another different for the last). This is a modified version of the material explained in this post . I used a layer weight - facing node to mix forecolor and middlecolor, and a dot product of incoming and normal vectors to mix them with the backcolor. So this last mix node depends on the angle between incoming and normal coordenates.   You can download this and other gold node setups in blendswap . Bye

(Edit: I have updated the metal node group in this article and in blendswap) (Editado: He actualizado el grupo de nodos metal de este artículo y en blendswap) This material is made with Blender and Cycles. I tried to do a kind of metal with three tones: Este material está hecho con Blender y Cycles. He intentado hacer una especie de metal con tres tonos de color: I mixed two main colors with a Facing factor of a Layer Weight node, and included a third color to darken the objects backwards. He mezclado dos colores principales con el factor Facing de un nodo Layer Weight, y he incluido un tercer color para oscurecer la parte de atrás de los objetos. This is an examples of setup: Este es un ejemplo de configuración: * Medium: Roughness 0.04 / 0.08 * Medio: Roughness 0.04 / 0.08 * Glossy: Roughness 0.01 / 0.04 * Brillo: Roughness 0.01 / 0.04 * Ultra Glossy: Roughness 0.001 / 0.01 * Ultra Brillo: Roughness 0.001 / 0.01 * Rough: Roughness 0.1 / 0.08 * ...
